- ➤ Bloomington soldier PFC Robert Lee Bryant’s remains—identified after over 80 years—will be returned for burial on April 12 at 1 p.m. at Park Hill Cemetery. Family members, including his great-nephew Austin Dillow from Fort Riley, will escort his remains home. WJBC
- ➤ The city of Bloomington held a housing fair on Wednesday at Eastland Mall where vendors provided services to help residents secure safe housing—resources ranged from home buying and renting to rehabilitation and support for the unhoused. - ➤ A 28-year-old man was struck and killed by a pickup truck on I-55 near Shirley yesterday at 10:53 a.m.—his death is under investigation by McLean County coroner Kathy Yoder and Illinois State Police. WGLT

- ➤ On Thursday, World Happiness Day saw WGLT travel around McLean County to ask people what makes them happy — recording reactions at Olympia Middle School in Stanford and near Uptown Normal. - ➤ Bloomington mayoral hopefuls include incumbent Mayor Mboka Mwilambwe, council member Cody Hendricks, and former state Rep. Dan Brady who are discussing a shrinking budget and a nearly $6 million deficit ahead of the April 1 election. Mwilambwe said planned capital projects like a $400 million water system upgrade and the downtown streetscape will continue as funds become available — while other candidates advocate delaying and merging projects to cut costs.
