GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Bloomington Police Department will join the Illinois State Police Violent Crime Intelligence Task Force to better track FOID card revocations after a recent triple murder suicide in the area. The city council approved the plan on March 25 and officials will seek grant funding to dedicate officers — though they say most illegal gun users never held a valid FOID card. WGLT
- ➤ Jim Karch was named the city's new director of engineering on March 25th. He served as interim director since February and has over 20 years of experience managing city projects—such as developing a sewer master plan and overseeing rehabilitation efforts. WJBC
