- ➤ The city began treating parts of Lakes Bloomington and Evergreen to manage an algae bloom that raised toxin levels. Tests showed that the toxin stayed below levels that would need a health warning—officials said the treatment also helps fix water taste issues. WGLT
- ➤ The City of Bloomington began treating parts of Lake Bloomington and Evergreen Lake on March 27 — using powdered activated carbon to control algal growth caused by unusual winter weather. Drinking water and recreation remain safe while the Water Department continues monitoring quality with the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency. Cities 92.9

- ➤ Illinois lawmakers are considering a bill to allow a prescription pill for life ending treatment for terminal patients with six months or less to live—patients must be 18 or older and able to communicate, with doctors confirming their diagnosis.
