CULTURE NEWS

  • Prairie Fire Theatre will hold auditions for The Baker's Wife from 1 to 5 p.m. on April 5th and April 6th at Illinois Wesleyan University.  The Pantagraph

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Alderman Cody Hendricks, a teacher at Olympia High School and Ward 6 council member, said he will run for mayor to shift from a behind-the-scenes role to a more public service focus on affordable housing and green space. He added that the city must fix water problems, update downtown streets, and review parking rules—steps he believes will help manage future growth.  The Pantagraph
  • Mayoral candidate Dan Brady outlined his vision for Bloomington in a video message and explained plans for improving local services—additional details about his proposals have not yet been released.  The Pantagraph
  • Bloomington Mayor Mboka Mwilambwe said he will address the city's severe housing shortage if reelected by encouraging infill development and changing parking requirements and housing density—he also plans to repair aging infrastructure after completing projects like the upgraded O'Neil Aquatics Center and the new public library.
