  • McLean County Sheriff Matt Lane confirmed his office is investigating allegations that school officials misused public funds to promote a website urging voters to consider a 1% sales tax on retail purchases—an action that may breach Illinois law ahead of the April 1 ballot.  WGLT

  • Tuesday, voters in Bloomington-Normal and McLean County will cast ballots for local races that include contested mayoral elections in Bloomington—featuring incumbent Mboka Mwilambwe, former Rep Dan Brady and Alderman Cody Hendricks—and Normal with incumbent Chris Koos and council members. The ballot will also include contested City Council seats and school measures such as a sales tax proposal and a bond referendum for Prairie Central school upgrades.  The Pantagraph
