  • Bloomington police are asking for help finding 15-year-old Kristina Loyd, who was reported missing on March 4 and is described as 5 foot 7 with black hair and brown eyes — anyone with information should call 309-820-8888.  Central Illinois Proud

CULTURE NEWS

  • The McLean County Museum of History today announced winners for this year’s History Makers Gala, honoring Sally Rudolph for 25 years on the zoning board, former Chamber president Robert Fazzini, and Douglas Hennessy for 50 years of community service. The ceremony will be held on June 18 at Illinois State University’s Brown Ballroom.  Central Illinois Proud

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Bloomington public works will begin collecting free bulk waste for solid waste program customers from May 5—May 16, offered at no extra charge. The new pickup service will help residents manage large items safely.  The Pantagraph
  • Brady defeated his challengers in the Bloomington mayoral race and will now serve as the city’s mayor.  The Pantagraph
  • Bloomington's parks and recreation department launched a survey to collect residents' ideas for the future of Miller Park — the feedback will help guide the park master plan.  The Pantagraph

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • Plans for the Essex apartment and townhome development near Shelbourne Drive and Beech Street in Normal have been revived with changes designed to ease neighbor concerns, including rerouting Vanderbilt Drive to reduce local traffic. Worthington LLC is asking to rezone 17 acres to multiple-family use and 2.5 acres to mixed residence use—reviews are set for the Normal Planning Commission on May 8 and the Town Council on May 19.  WGLT
