CRIME NEWS

  • Officers were called at 5:51 a.m. Tuesday to respond to reports of gunfire on the 1400 block of North Lee Street where a residence was damaged—no injuries were reported.  WGLT

CULTURE NEWS

  • Girls Night: The Musical will play Saturday, June 22nd at the Bloomington Center for the Performing Arts at 600 N. East St.  The Pantagraph
  • Ewing Manor at 48 Sunset Road in Bloomington will offer public tours every Monday from 4 to 6 p.m. in May through September. Visitors can explore the historic property during these weekly tours.  The Pantagraph

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Bloomington hired a new director of community impact and engagement to lead its outreach programs. City officials said the appointment will boost local ties (the selection process is complete) (official details were released).  The Pantagraph
  • The City of Bloomington hired Cordaryl Patrick as its new Director of Community Impact & Enhancement, and he brings proven skills from his previous role in Decatur where he led a team with a $10 million budget—he will begin his role later this month. His background in housing development and neighborhood revitalization will guide his work in city projects.  Cities 92.9

  • USA Ice Cross will battle at Grossinger Motors Arena — 101 S. Madison St., Bloomington — on April 30 at 6:30 p.m. The event will showcase fast-paced ice cross racing and is expected to draw local fans.  The Pantagraph
