  • A Bloomington man was found not guilty of attempted murder—he was convicted on two charges related to throat slashing after a two-day trial in McLean County this week.  The Pantagraph

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • A new Illinois House bill sponsored by state Rep. Maurice West bans the use of native-themed school mascots for new branding while letting schools use pre-purchased materials until 2030. About 90 school districts will face out-of-pocket costs for updating logos on remodeled facilities—some lawmakers call it a forced mandate—and the Senate is set to review the bill.  Cities 92.9

  • Brian Knutson from Bloomington attended the Masters with his family and was just 15 to 20 yards from the 18th green when Rory McIlroy won his career Grand Slam by sinking a birdie putt during a playoff with Justin Rose.
