  • VT Developments — a Bloomington-owned firm — helped clear debris after EF1 tornadoes hit McLean County Friday evening. The company’s free crews worked on 10-15 properties and focused on the worst damage on the east side after residents shared addresses on social media.  25 News Now

  • Local historians and museums in Bloomington are marking America 250 by sharing exhibits and stories that preserve Central Illinois heritage (including interactive displays) for residents to learn from.  The Pantagraph

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • George Wendt, a long-serving county board member from Bloomington known for fighting high property taxes, died on Friday after battling leukemia. Funeral arrangements remain pending as his contributions to local government are remembered.  WGLT
  • Residents who experienced outages, property damage, flooding or tree damage from Friday’s storms are urged to submit an online self report so officials can assess disaster assistance eligibility.
