- ➤ Dee-Mack High School announced its 2025 prom court by selecting student representatives—school officials said the choices reflect the students’ leadership and dedication. The Pantagraph
- ➤ Students from the Bloomington Area Career Center helped rebuild a new space on Oakland Avenue that was once a State Farm building. District 87 bought the building for $4.5 million—renaming it the Willie G. and Gloria Brown Education Center, which will open for classes in August. Central Illinois Proud
- ➤ Normal Community High School held its 2025 prom where Karman Singh was crowned prom king and Miguel Patino Diaz was named prom queen — both were honored under the theme The Great Gatsby: All That Glitters is Gold. The Pantagraph
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Bloomington City Council unanimously approved a Standardized Housing Incentive Program to encourage developers to build homes—offering a 50% fee reduction, 100% waiver for tax credit projects, and density bonuses if the shovel is in the ground within three years. The council also said farewell to Mayor Mboka Mwilambwe and three council members as it prepares to welcome new officials at a May 1 swearing-in ceremony. WJBC
