  • Home Sweet Home Ministries plans to begin construction next month on The Bridge, a 56-bed shelter village for homeless residents that will be built at the Oakland Avenue and Main Street site owned by Connect Transit — the project is expected to cost about $2.65 million, include single- and double-occupancy units with a central clubhouse, and be finished by early November if construction starts as scheduled.  The Pantagraph
  • Elia Ballantini returned to Bloomington after two years with the Peace Corps in Fiji—where he and his group, Mighty 97, helped Wailotua Village No. 2 start a homestay business for tourists by training 30 locals in project management—and he has now handed off his work to a successor to complete the first aid training.  The Pantagraph

  • 18-year-old Aiden Post, a Richwoods High student recovering from a near-fatal car wreck in December 2024, walked a mile at Donovan Park on Saturday in a fundraiser organized by his cross-country team—his coach said the event supports his family's hospital expenses.  Central Illinois Proud
