COMMUNITY NEWS

  • The Illinois Prairie Community Foundation has awarded $226,284 to 106 local programs in McLean, DeWitt, Livingston and Logan counties. The funds were allocated among five categories to support community projects.  The Pantagraph

BUSINESS NEWS

  • United Airlines flights to Central Illinois Regional Airport have been delayed by FAA rules at O’Hare. The airline will resume four daily flights on Oct.-24 at the earliest.  WGLT

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Gas prices in Bloomington-Normal climbed more than 60 cents last week amid refinery outages and global supply issues — the average now stands at $4.82 per gallon in McLean County. The current price is 10 cents below the state average.  WGLT

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Molly Allen is the new regional superintendent of the local Regional Office of Education and will boost tech literacy by ensuring students build core skills (math, reading, and writing) after Mark Jontry retired in April.  WGLT
  • Normal West High School principal Angie Codron received the Golden Apple Foundation Excellence in Leadership award on Monday. She plans to use $5,000 from the award to renovate the atrium (renamed in honor of the school’s first principal, Dr. Jerry Crabtree).  25 News Now
  • Normal Community High School will hold its graduation ceremony at 6 p.m. Saturday, May 23 at Grossinger Motors Arena in Bloomington.  The Pantagraph
