Pritzker joined Rivian and local leaders in Normal Tuesday to spotlight state investments in EV manufacturing, infrastructure and workforce development as the company ramps up production of its R2 midsize SUV; Rivian plans to hire more workers to support growth — a key boost for the region. 25 News Now
- ➤ Gov. Pritzker visited Rivian’s new manufacturing plant in Normal on Tuesday to note the R2 model could bring electric vehicles to the middle class. Rivian’s $1.5 billion expansion and new EV training facility at Heartland Community College are expected to boost local hiring and build the EV ecosystem (officials said). WGLT

- ➤ Local property owners in Hudson Township received surprise tax bills with village taxes incorrectly charged, and McLean County Clerk Kathy Michael said affected residents near Lake Bloomington will be notified by mail soon (a clerical error may be to blame). WGLT
- ➤ LeRoy schools have piloted an emergency mapping project in McLean County to help first responders find the safest routes during emergencies using geographic information systems (GIS). The Pantagraph
