ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Authorities reported that a motorcycle and a sedan collided at 7:32 a.m. Thursday in eastern McLean County near Ellsworth — the adult male motorcyclist was pronounced dead and a juvenile sedan driver was taken to Carle BroMenn Medical Center with minor injuries.  WGLT

CRIME NEWS

  • A 20-year-old man from Normal was detained in Bloomington on 22 felony counts for selling cannabis, firearms and ammunition to a confidential police source—he appeared in court on Wednesday and his arraignment is set for 9 a.m. on June 27th.  The Pantagraph
  • Tavarus C. Murray, 45, was arrested Thursday after allegedly setting a fire at a Bloomington apartment complex (charged with aggravated arson, residential arson, and criminal damage to property) at about 11:20 p.m. on Wednesday (with damage exceeding $1,000 and no injuries reported).  Central Illinois Proud

CULTURE NEWS

  • Joe Stamm Band will preview songs from their new album Little Crosses (a 12-track project) at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the McLean County Fairgrounds during the Tailgate N’ Tallboys festival in Bloomington. The album will be released on July 11.  WGLT

SPORTS NEWS

  • Kendrique Coats has accepted a three-year role as the IHSA mental health advisor on the Sports Medicine Advisory Committee—he draws on his coaching experience from Bloomington and Pontiac and his clinical background in mental health—to guide policy changes that will better support student-athlete well-being statewide.  WGLT
