- ➤ G.E. Road in Bloomington is being resurfaced this summer from Veterans Parkway to Towanda Barnes Road to improve ride quality after 30 years of joint failures. Construction crews have already started milling and will pour asphalt while keeping lanes open, and the $2.5 million project is predicted to finish by Aug. 1 — officials said. WGLT
- ➤ Normal Town Council approved an ordinance banning new short‐term rental offerings in single‐family neighborhoods — the rule allows current rental owners a five‐year transition to switch to long‐term leases. The council also updated zoning codes, approved a six‐figure contract for an Anderson Park playground upgrade and set new pre‐treatment sewer regulations to meet federal standards. WGLT
