- ➤ A free art festival will be held at Miller Park Pavilion on August 10 from noon to 3 p.m. as the Bloomington Park and Recreation Department partners with the Inside Out Accessible Art Cooperative to offer art, nature and community activities—like henna design, bubble fun and music—to celebrate local creativity. - ➤ The City of Bloomington Arts & Entertainment Department will hold a job fair at Grossinger Motors Arena on August 6th from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. as both BCPA and the arena are hiring ushers, security personnel, concession workers, bartenders, arena staff, and custodians for the busy Fall season. - ➤ Former MLB player and rising country artist Adam Wainwright will perform at the Bloomington Center for the Performing Arts on Oct. 16—ticket presales start today and tickets will be on sale Aug. 1. WJBC

- ➤ Illinois State University has renamed Hancock Stadium's football field as Jay and Lori Bergman Field—honoring former trustee and alumnus Jay Bergman and his late wife Lori. New turf and signage will be added for the upcoming season—an update set to enhance the east side of the stadium. WGLT
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Bloomington Police received a state grant of over $20,000 to support overtime for checking expired or revoked FOID cards and seizing guns, making them the only downstate agency to get funding for this effort. They will use the funds to reduce a backlog of cases as part of their agreement with Illinois State Police—no new officers will be hired specifically for FOID compliance. WGLT
