- ➤ Heartland Community College + CreatiVets are partnering to offer a free art course for student veterans. The program will give veterans a chance to learn art and build creative skills. The Pantagraph
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Bloomington police received a $21,519.69 grant from the Illinois State Police's fourth round of firearms enforcement grants for fiscal year 2026—one of 21 agencies to share $1 million in funding. The department will use the funds to conduct enforcement details—targeting individuals under firearm restraining orders, Clear and Present Danger reports, or criminal convictions. - ➤ Sullivan-based soldiers from the 634th Brigade Support Battalion Forward Logistics Element returned home Sunday after a six‐month mission supporting U.S. Special Operations Command Africa in both Africa and Germany. Gov. Pritzker signed a bill banning the use of artificial intelligence in therapy and Senate Bill 1195, which mandates trauma-informed training for police when interacting with sexual assault victims — state regulators may impose fines up to $10,000 for violations.
