A man accused of grooming and trying to meet a child was released from McLean County jail after an appellate court ruled that his risk could be managed by conditions— a decision that may lead to more defendants being freed in similar cases.

In Bloomington, the Public Library, Connect Transit Bus station, Salvation Army Safe Harbor, Home Sweet Home Ministries, Denny’s on Eldorado and Walmart on Market Street offer cool spaces—Connect Transit is running a cooling bus from 10 to 7 p.m. today and from 10 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the McLean County Health Department parking lot at 200 W. Front St.
