  • Illinois State University Planetarium will host a presentation titled 'Mayan Archaeoastronomy: Observers of the Universe' that shows how ancient Mayans studied the sky—local visitors can learn about their unique view of the universe.  The Pantagraph

  • Today, the Bloomington Police Department celebrates 175 years of service and recalls its founding in 1850 as a small watchman-style force (that patrolled on horseback).  The Pantagraph

SPORTS NEWS

  • Peoria Motorcycle Club held its 78th American Flat Track racing event in Bartonville on Saturday — the heats ran from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and a full field of racers competed, with board member Stann Wiebler saying the club is working to revive the event for national success.  Central Illinois Proud
