BUSINESS NEWS

  • Vicki Tilton, who owns the building with Fox & Hounds Salon and Day Spa, said her business remains largely unaffected by the Market Street parking garage closure because most clients do not use it—she warned that employee parking will end Oct. 1 and expressed concern about demolition dust, noise and debris as city officials plan the future of the space.  Central Illinois Proud
  • Annie Clem, co-owner of Annie’s Eats, will open a new restaurant—featuring a breakfast menu and bakery—in May 2026.  The Pantagraph

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Bloomington City Council has tapped a firm to design a concept plan for a future public safety campus—an important step toward a new public works facility. The plan will guide upcoming reviews and further planning on the project.  The Pantagraph

HEALTH NEWS

  • Viva Raw LLC recalled two lots of frozen one-pound dog and cat foods after routine tests found possible salmonella and listeria contamination—no pet illnesses have been reported. The recalled food was sold from July 2 to Aug. 21 at select retailers including those in Illinois, and customers with the product should call for a refund and safely dispose of the food.  Central Illinois Proud

  • The high school football season schedule is announced with games beginning on August 29 when Normal West faces Peoria Notre Dame and Bloomington will play Normal Community on October 3—additional weekly matchups include LeRoy at Tri-Valley on September 5—providing a full season outlook for fans.  Cities 92.9
