- ➤ Superintendent Sean Berry emailed Tremont families today to say that law enforcement and school officials investigated a rumored threat to Tremont High School and found no credible danger—he stressed that the district’s threat assessment process is in place for everyone’s safety. - ➤ Heartland Community College’s Challenger Learning Center—named an Arthur C. Clarke Innovation Award winner—was recognized for its new approach to hands-on learning. The Pantagraph
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Leaders from the McLean County Board and Twin Cities met last night to agree on an audit that will clear up confusion over a nearly 10-year-old sales tax fund used for jail debt service, mental health, and system updates — the audit will be formalized at tonight’s county board meeting with plans to track big payments when new systems go live in July. - ➤ Law enforcement in Central Illinois say safety is a growing concern at large events and that each event needs a unique security plan—officers are adding extra staff and using drones to cover large areas. Authorities urge event organizers to plan carefully for public safety. 25 News Now
