- ➤ Bloomington-Normal community members gathered downtown Saturday to protest what they call unwanted federal actions, showing solidarity with Chicago amid ICE’s presence. The protest was held on the lawn of the Bloomington Center for the Performing Arts and organized by Bloomington-Normal 50501 — co-sponsored by the ACLU, Prairie Pride Coalition and the Social Justice Team. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Illinois Wesleyan University welcomed its largest incoming class in 15 years this fall — although international student numbers dropped as the school prepares for its 175th anniversary. The Pantagraph

- ➤ Former Gov. Jim Edgar is remembered for his bipartisan work and efforts to cut state spending; he passed away Sunday in Springfield from complications due to pancreatic cancer—Gov. J.B.
