  • Bloomington will host its final Bruegala charity beer festival on Oct. 4 — marking the end of a 25-year celebration in downtown Bloomington.  The Pantagraph
  • Rader Family Farms hosted about 250 children for the fifth annual Make-A-Wish Kid Day on Sunday, giving kids battling critical illnesses a chance to enjoy animal friends, pumpkins, and a corn maze. The event began in 2020 and continues to bring smiles and hope to families in our Bloomington-Normal area.  25 News Now

CULTURE NEWS

  • Architect Russel Francois, who worked on major buildings in Bloomington-Normal, has turned his retirement into art by installing upside-down hackberry tree sculptures in his backyard near Crestwicke Country Club—he used heavy equipment and help from friends to set them in place.  The Pantagraph

SPORTS NEWS

  • Illinois State University Redbirds will host their third annual Ballin’ on Beaufort pre-season basketball event on October 1 from 5 to 8 p.m. on a section of East Beaufort Street in Normal that will be closed for the event—No Parking signs will be posted from 10 a.m. and the street will be closed from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.  Central Illinois Proud
