- ➤ Troy Ziegler (ISU’s Santa) has led the Toys for Tots program in McLean County for 25 years, collecting toys for about 130,000 children with 110 donation boxes set up in the Bloomington-Normal area. Donation boxes remain available until December 15th to help provide hope to underprivileged kids. Central Illinois Proud
- ➤ Uptown Normal will close roads for its annual Treat Feast trick-or-treat event tomorrow from 5 to 6:30 p.m. to help ensure safe community participation. The Pantagraph

- ➤ Tynessia Edmonds—manager of College Avenue McDonald's—won the Ray Kroc Award Tuesday, Oct. 28 for her outstanding leadership and team support, and she received a McDonald’s letterman jacket while celebrating with fellow managers. - ➤ Towers of Light Christian Resources will open a new retail outlet on Saturday, Nov. 8 at 10 a.m. at 1604 Visa Drive, Suite B in Normal to serve as its hub for MegaVoice audio Bibles and a Multi-Media Language Arts Curriculum—visitors will also learn about the store’s schedule and holiday author events. - ➤ Heartland Community College dedicated a memorial garden for late employee Ann Pontius on Oct. 23 to honor her 29 years of service near the chemistry labs she once worked in (with spring bulbs planted by her family) at its main campus entrance. WGLT

- ➤ A building in downtown Bloomington was demolished Tuesday morning because unsafe conditions and low investor interest led to its removal for a redevelopment plan.
