- ➤ Bloomington’s 12th annual Ugliest Sweater Run will take place on December 13 at Miller Park at 1 p.m.—runners can choose a 1.5-mile or 3-mile route and visit selfie stations with prize categories along the way. Participants may also order shirts by November 24 while paying $10 for race admission or $30 with a long-sleeved shirt. Central Illinois Proud
- ➤ Santa will drop candy canes for kids at Miller Park on December 13th at 10:15 a.m. as part of an event by Bloomington Parks and Recreation — parents must stay with their children, registration costs $12 per child, and check-in begins at 10 a.m. outside the Miller Park Pavilion. - ➤ Roger Lancaster, a Korean War veteran, and his son Kevin, who were honored with an honor flight to Washington D.C. in 2016, now work to encourage more veterans and volunteers to join the program. They hope that as Honor Flight plans 2026 trips—keeping the tradition alive—more community members will sign up to support veteran journeys. Central Illinois Proud
- ➤ Homesweet Home Ministries said its tiny home village for 48 unhoused people has been delayed to January due to shipping issues with a key electrical part—its outreach team will keep providing emergency winter shelter and soon begin accepting applications and giving tours. 25 News Now
- ➤ The Bridge is a new non-congregate shelter for homeless people in Bloomington that has its opening delayed because an important electrical switch gear will arrive at the end of December—pushing the finish from mid-December to early 2026. Home Sweet Home Ministries will begin interviews next week and ask local volunteers to help with painting and furniture installation for the 48 single-person units, bathhouse, and clubhouse. WJBC

- ➤ Rivian announced a spinoff called Mind Robotics using $110 million in seed money to build AI-powered robots for its plant operations in Normal. The company reported a third quarter gross profit of $24 million on Tuesday and forecast to deliver between 41,500 and 43,500 electric vehicles this year—focusing on long-term growth amid near-term uncertainty. 25 News Now
- ➤ Rivian reported mixed Q3 results that showed both progress and pressure and said its Normal factory was gearing up to produce the new R2-model. The automaker faced challenges on its balance sheet that it will work to address in the coming quarter. The Pantagraph

- ➤ Angel Ambrose, a Bloomington artist who helped start downtown open-studio walks in 2000, presents her exhibition Reckoning Home at her studio (101 Monroe St., #201) as part of the 25th annual Art Walk open from 4-9 p.m. today. Her work reflects a personal journey of healing and hope and adds a unique voice to an event featuring over 100 artists. WGLT

- ➤ Normal Fire Department Lt. Hill and Firefighter-Paramedic Riordan are being recognized for heroically rescuing a 13-year-old child from a burning mobile home on Nov.2 when they entered through a rear wall because doors were blocked—other crews revived the child who was later taken to a burn unit. - ➤ Residents in Bloomington said Veterans Parkway is unsafe and want changes through the Reinvent Veterans Parkway Project, which has proposed three plans—upgrading lanes with added sidewalks and green space, reducing lanes to slow speeding, or changing intersections to improve safety. Officials will gather more input at an open house Wednesday at the public library as surveys run until September. WJBC
